Submissions are now OPEN for Issue #3: ‘Feathers’ until MIDNIGHT on September 30th.

Our quote/inspiration for Issue #3 is:

Please bear with us; we aim to respond to all submissions
within 4-6 weeks of receiving them.
We are all singing, all dancing graduates – so we’ll do our best. 🙂

We are looking for dark and strange, wonderfully uncanny and genuinely haunting pieces pertaining to flora and fauna. Think skeletal birds, metamorphosis and creatures of the night. All titles/themes are loose and entirely open to interpretation. We’ll happily accept any variations on the suggestions above, providing we feel you ‘get us’.
At the end of the day, it is you the writer, who will help us define The City Fox.

PLEASE READ ALL SUBMISSION GUIDELEINES CAREFULLY,
BEFORE SUBMITTING ANY MATERIAL TO US!:

Poetry:
Up to 6 poems per submissions, in any form within reason (no epic eulogies, please!)

Flash Fiction:
500-700 words in length, up to 3 per submission.

Short Fiction:
2,500 words in length absolute max and only 1 per submission.

Everything Else:
We are happy to accept any original illustrations and photographs, up to 3 per submission – if we love them, we may even request more! If you think you have something else that may interest us, send it over! Current theme for artwork: Wildlife – we want to see foxes, bears, deer, wolves, rabbits, owls, crows and all the rest, but darker in tone. Current photography themes: Wildlife/Woodland.

We are also looking to include features on professional or emerging artists/illustrators.
This will take the form of a feature article/interview with accompanying works which will appear in the ‘Featured’ section of our e-zine, with additional The City Fox inspired works appearing in the upcoming issues.
For those who are looking to receive more publicity for their work, this is a great opportunity to show off your skills to a worldwide audience.
Anyone interested is asked to contact us via thecityfoxsubmissions@outlook.com with examples of work and a brief CV detailing experiences etc.
We’d also like you to say, in under 100 words, WHY you feel this would be a great opportunity.
We will accept submissions for feature artists/illustrators on a rolling submissions basis and aim to respond within 4-6 weeks of being contacted, with additional time being given to prepare The City Fox inspired illustrations and for article preparation.

We ask for no simultaneous submissions, makes our job easier!
If you wish to withdraw your work from our consideration, please contact us via email, stating your name and the name(s) of the piece(s) you wish to withdraw.

We cannot offer payment to contributors.
All issues will be made available to download in .PDF and ‘Click to Read’ format.

We will only accept previously unpublished works.
All work MUST BE YOUR OWN and in English.
Copyright remains with the author, though by submitting to us you are granting permission for us to publish your work on The City Fox.
We ask that should you go on to publish a piece first featured here in the future, that full credit is given to The City Fox for publishing first.
